In a galaxy far far away....

There lived a little library gnome who went back to work on the first day after Christmas/New Years break and found that the servers were all working well, email was up and doing what it should do in a perfect world and the phones stayed quiet. Hey co-worker brought her brekkie and a steaming cup of tea and they chatted while all was quiet around them. Bliss. No network outages, no server issues, no irate customers. Just a lovely quiet day to catch up on emails, blogs, sms friends in town etc.

NOT THIS GALAXY IT SEEMS!!!!

Had to use the force to drag my sorry, sleep deprived behind out of bed this morning with a pounding headache from 2 hours worth of sleep only to get to work and find that some clever schmuck had set account expiration dates to 01/01/2006. Yu-hah, that was the first bloody day of this month! 500 irate callers all rang to voice their disgust, not to mention that one of the main email servers was down at the same time taking approx. 1/3 of all staff email with it. Happy New Year to all you lucky lucky sods who don't work helpdesk and have to deal with this crud.

On the upside I did get brekkie brought to me with a steaming cup of tea so really it wasn't all that bad. ;-)
