The mighty shall overcome...

Remember me chucking a whinge about the neighbours and how they were right ass-holes? Well, ok, side from that, remember me whinging about how they complained to council about the fact that we had 4 dogs? Well if you dont, then readthe archives or keep reading, I shall recap.
Our neighbours are idjits, crazy, inbred hicks who screama nd cuss at each other as soon as they wake up. There are 2 mature age people, supposedly parents and 5 kids living in this 3 bedroom highset house that once upon a time with a good garden would have looked pretty swanky. Lets say, in real estate terms it had potential, until these morons moved in. They have corrugated iron for fencing (and I dont mean that nice corrugated iron decorative approach some yuppies take in West End), these are odd length pieces bolted to existing chainmesh fence to keep their current 2 ratbag dogs from jumping the fence. It fails, the dogs still jump and bail up small children.
Now the kids age in range from 6-16 and dont attend school, well not on a regular basis anyways. They all have English language skills far below some of the International Students I work with unless you can applaud them for swearing solidly at their mother from the other end of the yard. At the top of their lungs. Yes, very classy. The youngest daughter is nicknamed 'banshee junior', she takes after her Mum in the high-scream stakes. Anyhooo.
They dobbed us in for having 4 dogs, my 2 and Riffs 2 when he moved in. I'm on a quarter acre block, see 1340m2 people, huge with 2 small terrier things and 2 broder collies, ample room and these people got busted having 4 dogs themselves. Didn't help them that 6 people on the street had complained about them having horses, dogs out attacking children and 2 barking warnings for 1am 2 hour long barking, they were shits. Well we couldn't decide which dogs would have to go so we bit the bullet and applied for a special permit. Old mate from council came out this morning and armed with a fresh cuppa that I'd made, he passed us, we got our permit. We can legally (according to council) keep our 4 dogs for the princely sum of $250 a year (yup, they sting you anyway they can). But hey, means we dont have to get rid of our 'children' and the dogs life in this place continues. I couldn't give up a face like this one though.

It would have been heartbreaking for you you and Riff to have to say goodbye to two of the kids.
So glad you don't have to :)

But hey - the dogs get to stay together!
