societal suckiness

Yesterday I had a need to head into the city, something I don't do very often since I harbour this people phobia thing, and mass crowds irrit me. Anyways, I was off with Crafty to some boutique paper places to get supplies for all those papery endeavours required for weddings, invites, placecards etc.

Now have reasons for not traisping into town much, usually I stick to the burbs where I know I can escape home really fast becuase well frankly, people freak me out. I used to really enjoy heading into the city and just watching people since they fascinate me, the way they scurry like they are running out of time, the facial expressions, body language, I'm a sometimes people voyeur, I like to watch. Well yesterday I could not get out of the palce fast enough, my entire city experience was shit and made me realise that I can't find that island fast enough really.

While walking towards one paper store with Crafty, we had to cross traffic. I'm good, I press the button and wait for the little green man to say I can go. Little green man popped up so we stepped out. 2 cars zoomed in front of us across the crossing and then this one car stopped not a foot away from my leg as if to imply that I was where I shouldn't have been. Excuse me, I had a green light, I had right of way, and this dumb mole thought she could attempt to run me over. I stood in the middle of the crossing, and glared at this woman with my best 'Fuck you bitch' look, I was pissed. Tired, cranky and some cow tries to run me over, really felt like kicking the front of her bonnet in. Crafty grabbed my hand and dragged me cross the crossing. One black mark for trip to town. Freaking city drivers. Should have given her my best 'Fuck you' finger as well. Cow.

We found our paper and got all the supplies we needed and headed for lunch. The local Subway looked appealing, however my end result did not. 'Would you like sauce with that' the attendant asked me. Sweet chilli for me, however I think I would have preferred some salad with my sub. When I unwrapped my sub, I could squeeze that baby and sauce was streaming from it. Ugh. Think there was bread in there too, maybe some salad, not sure, could only find sauce. No pride in his work that boy. While sitting there eating my sweet chilli sub, we watched a group of boys and girls walk up to seperate tables and flick the rubbish onto the ground before sitting down. The boys hadn't even purchased anything from Subway, they were eating lunch from another place. I was sorely tempted to screw my soggy wrapper up and throw it in one's lap and say 'I think you dropped something.' Rude little shits. The girls did exactly the same. One seemed to be suffering a case of larger pants too, her jeans barely covered her bottom. Now I know I'm getting old and jaded, but please tell me there is something gross with having your entire bottom crack on show. I could have flicked chilli sauce down there with no worries. We could have slam dunked our wrappers down there there was that much crack happening. Are people really this rude, crass, and just downright gross? Come on, when you go out, do you have your entire breakfast on show? Throw rubbish on the ground? Try to run pedestrians over just becuase they are following what the little green man says?
I know I probably sound naive, but sheesh, surely some people still have some manners, pride and self worth?
Looks like I'll stay out the burbs a bit more in the future, hopefully I won Lotto last night and I can afford that island soon.
