Bring it on..

the weekend I mean. We get 4 glorious days of non-phonecalls and sleep-ins and just relaxing, hoorah!

This week has bitten the phat one in a bigway. Twice knocked back on offers for house, work has been an utter shitehole, and now my older sister is in town for The Big Fellas 60th birthday, bring on the hormonal, bitchiness that only comes when you put both Hormonal and Sponge in the same room together. Rumour has it Taurean (dude dating the Sponge aka my younger sister) is going to propose to her tomorrow. Poor fella, I actually thought he was of sane mind, appears I'm wrong. No wonder his alcomahol content has gone up since he's been dating her. I am such a bitch sometimes.

But in happier news, 4 days till I find out if my first ever foray into the world of academia is accepted and if I'm off to Perth in Sept for Click06. Yeah, library nerd that I am. And then 1 month till I find out if my second foray into academia is accepted for NLS3 in Sydney in December. What can I say, I'm trying to beat the stereotype, no twinsets and pearls for this 6 foot tall blonde Librarian in jeans! Well ok, I do own a pearl, just a single one, but that was a pressie and I couldn't say no. ;-)

And mother dearest has agreed to make me a new wedding dress. Something slinky, something swanky, and something that will no doubt say 'F*** you bumhead for the last shit event, this time I'm going to have some fun'. Well ok, maybe soemthing like that. Just have to exorcise his demons before the day, or I'll go spare. Antigone has suggested a burning, purging sort of event, something with eye of newt, and tongue of toad, dont know where we'll get a newt eye, but I'm sure we can come up with something.

But hey, Happy Easter all you folk, hope it's a safe and happy one and the break is fab!

  • Where were the librarians like you when I was a wee lass? A purging event definitely sounds like fun. You can make a puppet of him and dance him into the fire. Don't worry about the house. Something will come up and it will be the most perfect thing you've ever laid eyes on.
