It's Dilemma Day!

Hello boys and girls and welcome to another episode of Dilemma Tuesday. The game show where I get to deal with some element of crap that I really dont want to address or even get my knickers in a twist about.

Todays dilemma is:
how to tell my much negative and nasty sisters that I'm pregnant and having a baby.

Now I'm going the email approach so this way they both have exactly the same information, at exactly the same time and no one can say that they didn't get that story and blah blah blah. Remembering that these are the 2 siblings whose responses to the news that I was getting married were less than favourable and have not spoken to me properly since.

Will they care? Will they get excited about the prospect of becoming aunties? Will they find out somehow that I have told every other family member, work collegue and the postman before them since I really did not want to deal with their negativity and nasty comments?

Who knows, but if you were in the same dilemma, how would you tell a hormonal, negative, angry older sibling and a younger, sponge type 'it's all about me' sibling that you had exciting news?

Stay tuned.

  • Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS! That is awesome news. I'm so happy for you. :)

    Now to the evil sisters.
Tell them this; " I'm pregnant. Be happy for me or get fucked".
    Simple.

  • Steph: I heart you for your straightforward approach, you vixen of tact you.

Token: Sky writer hey, hmm. I have one living 7 hours drive away, I guess thats one way to tell her entire township.

Scorpy: Wish I could pass, the rest of the family is surprised I'm bothering to tell them at all! Yes, high opnions of these 2 there are, not.

  • Yay, the news is out! It's odd that people could be so mean about stuff like that. You have no obligation other than telling them. If they deal with it like crackwhore bitches, that's their problem.

  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!

    That's awesome news!

There's no harm in dealing via email (at least at first) - most of the major convo's I've had have started via email then gradually progressed to actual talking - it's get the tricky stuff out of the way so everyone can deal better when they're calmer!
