An ounce of hope..

with a pinch of promise. Add 1 hopeful house on realestate.com, mix in your head and what have you got?

A possibility for change, happiness and a huge amount of debt!

Ok, I've been pretty far down of late, neighbours have really been getting to me, they lodged a complaint against us the other day and it caused strife in the household, silly things, but enough for us to forget being happy for a bit. So the push is on to find a new place, somewhere bigger but close to where we are in a bracket that we can afford. Yeah, I'm not asking for much, maybe winning a small amount on Lotto next week wouldn't be too much to ask either? Come on Karma, what goes around has to come around to me at some stage?

So we are off to look at said house that came up today, hopefully this afternoon if the damn real estate agents gets back to us, worse than vultures sometimes they are. But there looks to be room for a huge shed out the back, all my fruit trees, a massive vegie garden, oh and a nursery at some stage if thats the way we are thinking. ;-) And the land size is big enough that 4 dogs aint a problem with council, so nuts to the neighbours who have 3 of their own. Dumb bunnies they are. I will be so happy to move away from them, as far away would be fabulous really.

And maybe Riff and I can actually concentrate on doing fun things instead of fighting with neighbours, then fighting amongst ourselves as we try to come up with solutions to crap neighbour issues. Bring it on I say.

Wedding woes

Glass of white wine in hand, I assess my wedding dress, not the new one that I'm going to wear, but my old one. The top and skirt I wore for the last event is sitting laid out on my bed as I stand over it, wine in and hand and wonder what the hell I'm going to do with it.
I'm at a loss, do I make modifications to it and perhaps use the old skirt but make it perhaps shorter, add some brocade or something to the top, oh I dont know. This shit's hard. You see I am excited about the upcoming event, really I am. I just got back from catching up with Crafty (one of my bridesmaids) in the city. We talked about the dramas I'd had with the siblings, the venue, the fact that according to Catholic Law I cannot get remarried in a church without an Annulment. And it has to be one from the Anglican Church since that's where He decided we were getting married, an extra complication. Part of me doesn't care about that, but another defiant part wants that bloody annulment, just to say the last crap event never was, even though it was. I'm gyping Riff on the wedding front, I'm sure of it. Poor fella has never done the wedding thing, always thought he never would find some chick he liked enough to ask, and then he found this chick who had already screwed it up before. Mate, he was stuffed from the beginning when he met me I'm sure of it.
So what to do..

Well reception venue has been booked, caterer confirmed, bridal party worked out even though that caused trouble, pseudo invite list made, and thats it. Mum did most of it since frankly I just can't get motivated of late and the days just blur too fast. She asked me if I'm excited, Riff's asked me if I'm excited, people are work have asked if I'm excited. I think I might have roses in my Bouquet, is that exciting enough? Mum hit me with the list of foods we could pick, choose 5 salads from the following selection kinda thing. She'd already ticked 5 that she liked so I told her to go with those, she was astounded and frankly astonished (like that alliteration?). I looked at her and said, 'look, its just food for gods sake. Like I'm going to chuck a spack about having the marinated mushroom salad instead of the pasta salad.' I'm hardly Bridezilla like Hormonal (older sister) was. Food, drink, me showering and wearing some decent gear for the event, whats the deal?

Truly, I am excited, honest. I just feel like a huge fraud.

More wine required....

It's time to go...

Morons next door.

My neighbours suck, they suck worse than neighbours should. These guys are the suckiest of the sucky I swear, and at 1:30am this morning, I was swearing lots.

As I have complained before, my neighbours on the upside (I'm on a slight hill) are socially challenged. The father looks like an industrial accident (missing most front teeth, lanky hair, talks like Rocky after he's had his face beaten in quite badly), the partner tries really hard to dress like a 12 year old, except she's late 40's and lycra should never ever be put under that sort of pressure, ever. If it's shiny, it's really not a good look. You can hear fabric wheezing with the effort of not ripping. Did I mention she is also a size 16-18? Oh, and she howls like a banshee, has that banshee scream. I'm just waiting for my windows to shatter one day. Now they have between them 5 children, all of varying stages of never going to school, all with dubious language abilities, most common word used in the household and on each other starts with 'f' and ends in 'uck', this is usually shouted or screamed. I think you get the point.
Now there are also 3 dogs ranging from mongrel to well mongrel. 2 like to jump the fences and terrorise other dogs in the neighbourhood at 2am, while the small Australian Silky Terrier just slips between the fence and barks and barks and barks and yeah, did I mention that it can breath through it's ears? Must be able to to keep up a constant bark, and it's annoying small dog yappy bark, the type that you try so hard to ignore, however after a while, you really just want to kill something, namely the dog.

Well last night, the ferals didn't come home, probably off doing some drug run somewhere to pay the house repayments, and all the fines from excess water usage, the 3 cars they run, the feed for the 5 horses etc. These people are dodgy as hell, they ripped out our side fence becuase they said it made their yard look messy. So the newspaper strewn across the front yard where one of the kids mowed and couldn't be bothered picking it up, the trees are have been cut down and left lying there, 3 months ago, the battered horse trailer that is parked out the front, all that doesn't look attractive. Quite laughable. They left yesterday taking 2 cars, all the kids, and some of the crap from the front of their house. 1:30 the 2 dogs jumped the fence and started attacking ours through the fence. Then moved on down the road. Then the small dog started barking, and barking and barking. From one end of the street all the way to the other end, yap yap yap yap. 2:30, 3:30, I heard someone's alarm go off at 5:20 this morning while I was still trying to get back to sleep. That little prick of a dog kept it up for 4 hours, no one home next door to tell it to shut up, not that they ever do. So Riff went out and told it off, with 3 buckets of water. Yeah, had to douse the damn thing to shut up. Now I dont like thinking evil/nasty thoughts of people, dont think it's nice and I hope and know that things come round to those who are bastards, but this morning I was praying for a car. Just one car to drive past and make it all quiet again. Or that the dogs would find the rat that had died behond the shed (due to a healthy diet of ratsak) and they would think it a tasty meal and then more quiet. Horrible I know. I've had 2 hours sleep and I'm really hating those people.

Please let us find a place we can afford that is bigger and quieter sometime soon. Or that the bank forcloses on the homeloan for next door and I can buy the place really cheaply and rent it out. It's a nice place, pity about the idiots living in it.

Oh, and on the wedding front, both of my sisters are now talking to me. Dont know what I've done wrong to deserve this, but in 3 days, I had 3 phonecalls from the Sponge, and 1 from Hormonal. Was weird. Still not giving them any details about the impending nuptials, they must really hate the lack of information. ;-) Nuts to them.

Ack!

I sure am one angry, grumpy, surly bitch today!

It's helpdesk I know, but when the hell is the bloody phone going to stop ringing! When are people going to learn that a temporary password is temporary for shite's sake and change it in the time we tell them to so they don't keep calling back? When am I going to find dream job and get out of this craphole? Why the hell am I feeling so yucky and angry and pissed off at the world?

Dude, that guy who just rang had the gayest voice, and I know there is nothing wrong with that, just sounded super weird.

Oh, back to my diatribe.

I hate my job.
I hate this place.
I hate dumbarse users who really should be brained with their computers and stop making my day crappier than it is.
I hate frackers who slam the phone in my ear.
I hate the phone incessantly ringing, and I don't care that I work on helpdesk, can it not stop just for a short while please?!
I hate saying hate all the time and feeling like an angry little ball of angry-bean-ness.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sux that I've growled at Riff so many times today, sure the poor guy is going to reneg on the marriage proposal and kick my sorry angry arse out on the street. Nuts to him if he tries, my house. ;-)
Children's hospital volunteering time tonight and I have to try and be cheerful for sick kiddies? Crap, that's going to be hard.

I'm going for tea, nuts to this crap.

grumble grumble grumble

On a good note, it is positively slooshing (my word, back off if you don't like it) down with rain at the moment, hoorah! Wish I had a huge water tank to catch all the loveliness, alas I do not. The small tank I do have is overflowing everywhere, but my garden is growing growing GROWING! Picking heaps of roma tomatoes for toasted sammies, it's wonderful.

Ok, definitely going now, the need for tea is too great.

Stupid Day

I swear 95% of people calling me today are flat out stupid. It's amazing the number of stupid people there are in the world today, really, it is!

*phone rings*
'Hi, I can't use my password that I was given last week'
(me)'You mean the temporary password that we gave you that we also told you you needed to change before 24 hours was up since it is a temporary password and would expire?' (I can actually say all of that without taking a breath and sounding peeved even though I am peeved that this dolt wasted my time calling up after not following what we told them to do last week)
'Er yeah, I didn't realise that when you said it would expire in less than 24 hours, I wouldn't be able to use it after that time. Can you please reset it for me again?'

So I reset the password, and once again tell them that it is a temporary password and they need to change it after 20 minutes otherwise it would expire and lock their account.

'So you mean I have to change it or it will expire and lock my account?'

Crikey, somedays I wish I could just reach down the phone and strangle the idiots. And for the record I have had this exact same conversation at least 10 times today.

In other news both my sisters are now not talking to me about the wedding. Seems they have gotten the irrits since I haven't asked either of them to be on the bridal party since I would like to surround myself that day with wonderful people who wont constantly bitch about everything I decide to do. So instead the winners are Antigone and The Craft Librarian. I am going to have one bridesmaid with the funkiest hair and cutest daughter (still in exceptionally strong contention to be a flower girl) and one bridesmaid who is the craftiest chick I know and will help me make the most shit hot invites, table cards and all that stuff! I'm sorted! Bring on the festivities I reckon!

Home time, catch you lot tomorrow. May it not be stupid day again, otherwise I will scream more than the once I have today already. Killings may start.
