Reasons I went to library school
(or so it seems according to some of the clients in this place today)
*to hand out tissues
*to print off timetables because they cant grasp what a printer is
*to loan staplers/pens/pencils/calculators(no, we dont)/give directions to the bathroom
*to be yelled at about the exhorbitant fees students must pay for blah blah blah
*fix laptops/wireless/busted internet connections
*find lost usb sticks/floppy disks
*fix said usb sticks/floppy disks and retrieve files from
*fix broken staplers/printers/computers
*point direction to working staplers/printers/computers
*log jobs for broken student email system
*be berated and abused for broken student email system
Oh, but I did get to do a research question so that was one good thing. 7 years of learning about cataloguing, boolean searching, history of libraries and I've become a signpost or tech support.
Ah, the irony is just killing me. So glad I did that IT major now as well, knew it would come in handy.

Gah! That would drive me insane. Kudos to you for not hitting someone over the head with big 'ol Encyclopedia.
